Celebrated with Writing
at the Shelby County Library Carnegie Center.
"The Shelby County Public Library recently hosted its second children's writing program with local author Carol June Franks, and once again, it was an incredibly enriching experience. This time, the event focused on another one of her children’s books, A Silent Tree Remembers. As with her previous visit, Mrs. Franks did a fantastic job engaging the children, encouraging them to tap into their memories of trees and unleash their creativity through storytelling. By sharing her journey as an author and using her own books as teaching tools, she effectively guided each child through the storytelling process in a way that was both educational and inspiring. The children left the session not only excited about writing but also empowered with new techniques to express themselves through their personal memories. I highly recommend Carol June Franks for any writing program aimed at young or aspiring writers who want to explore their imagination and storytelling abilities."

"Write with the Author" event was a blast!
"The Shelby County Public Library recently had a writing event for children hosted by local author, Carol June Franks, and I must say it was an incredibly enriching experience. Mrs. Franks did a fantastic job engaging the children, encouraging them to tap into their memories and unleash their creativity through storytelling. What truly stood out was how Mrs. Franks utilized her own children's book, 'Potatoes, Papaw, and Me," as a tool to demonstrate how to craft stories from their own personal experiences. By sharing her own journey as an author and using her book as a model, Mrs. Franks effectively showed each child how to translate their memories into captivating narratives. The way Mrs. Franks guided them through the process was both educational and inspiring. The children were not only excited for the task, but also empowered to express themselves through new writing techniques. I highly recommend having Carol June Franks for programs geared toward any age aspiring writers looking to explore their imagination and storytelling abilities."
